SUPPORT I OFFER

1:1 session

Through our time together we will employ customized art techniques to explore how to bring you to your goals. As we learn and explore, we are building your personalized wellness “tool kit” to heal and thrive.

Couple sessions

Through creating art together we build trust, learn and teach each other new skills. This fine tunes our ability to communicate not only with words but through our physical being.

Family sessions

From just plain fun to enrichment and learning, Art is a wonderful and accessible vehicle for strengthening relationships through learning how to communicate more effectively both verbally and physically.

Group sessions

I create and offer workshops for many types of groups. This includes seniors, parents and children, corporate staff, language learners, school age children, youth, children in the healthcare system, adolescents in recovery and university students.

Each session is available in-person or online in Edmonton and Camrose,
in French or in English,
for children, youth or adults.

  • Walking in Unison (Youth and Elders)

During the process we will stop along the way for different artisitc interventions, creating a physical  souvenir of our time together.

  • Parent and Child "Paint Nights" and Art Hives

Come, have fun and collaborate in creativity with your child for building great moments and developing even deeper relationships.

  • Couples Art Classes

Clay Sculpture- While couples create art together they pick up on subtle cues that often go unnoticed in everyday life. While taking this time to sit closely and work together we learn so much more about our partner, our relationship and ourselves.

ABOUT ART THERAPY

Our words and our emotions come from different parts of our brain. Each of us has a unique way of learning. Art Therapy utilizes the creation of images and one's own physicality to directly engage with our emotions in a  profound and intimate way that using only words cannot provide. This helps us achieve greater resilience through intimate self-knowing and understanding. This resilience brings us through the challenges that life brings us with more clarity and confidence.

You don’t need to be an artist to use these techniques, you do not even need to like art. You just need to show up and give yourself the gift of spending time exploring your inner-being

Our work together will be collaborative, based in mutual respect, tailored to your comfort and interest, inspired by your curiosity and driven by your bodily senses.

You will find what you need to heal and thrive.

What happens in a session ?

A typical session is 50 minutes. We start gently with some discussion and perhaps an art based warm-up, which often includes a breathing practice or a light stretch especially if you don't wish to talk a lot at first.

Together we will decide what steps will best serve you in your goals and select some art media and techniques to explore with. We will carefully gauge what is working for you as we learn and discover. I act as your guide and support but you are fully in charge.

We will reflect on what took place and come up with some theraputic strategies to take with you to try in your everyday life each time we work together reaching your goals and increasing your self-awareness, confidence and resilience.

The fees for the sessions are covered by many insurance companies and can be booked on a weekly basis. Come and give Art Therapy a try.

ABOUT ME

I use a mindful, phenomenological approach in my sessions to engage my client’s unique being. Each of us is 'unique" in that we each have an inherent wisdom that has been formed by our personal experience.

Our daily lives are often full of stress and distractions which can create a disconnect between out heart and mind. We all need to take some time everyonce in a while to settle back into ourselves and breathe.

That's where I come in, I can help create that space and hold it while you explore.
